Old jajim Gudjeri (flatweave) from Uzbekistan
This very old piece is composed of narrow bands of warp-faced weave sewn together. Rich in symbolism, the elements indicate fertility or talismans.
The dark red base contrasts well with the deep blue and saffron yellow features. This piece is sadly in a fragile condition (selvage and edge loss, some staining).
