These plain weave kilims were used as cloth for the meal or to preserve
the bread. This example is woven with a mixture of plain flat weave, weft work and plain soumak. The bold central zigzag design creates a
dynamic visual rhythm, while the typical small white embroideries add touches of brightness and artisanal detail.
