Important Haouz rug, knotted in a palette of abrashed magenta/terracotta

An exceptional old Haouz rug with an intricate network of lozenges containing smaller lozenges within. The hues have faded over time, lending a wonderful aged patina and depth to the piece. One edge is finished with a flat woven band with stripes and the rug is framed by a typical black border. A rare and intriguing piece, with a very elegant design. Here, too, a complex story is being narrated by the weaver.
